Kuala Lumpur – With food being a favourite topic amongst Malaysians, it also serves as a means to unite the nation, particularly with regards to food fairs and open houses during festive seasons.
One popular dish that most Malaysians agree is unique to Malaysia and is a favourite amongst many, is nasi lemak.
Perhaps it is with that thought in mind, an event has been scheduled to bring various nasi lemak vendors together at one location, to present their own version of the popular Malaysian dish.
Dubbed “I Eat Nasi Lemak”, the food fair set to take place next Sunday is organised by Fried Chillies at the TM Convention Centre in Bangsar.
A similar event was held last year, also at the same location where attendees got to savour the best of Malaysia’s nasi lemak.
According to an article posted on Fried Chillies’ website, they would be announcing the 20 nasi lemak vendors today, featuring 15 stores from the Klang Valley and five from outside the state.
Among the stores that will be featured at the “I Eat Nasi Lemak” event are Petaling Jaya’s Nasi Lemak Kukus Goreng, vegetarian nasi lemak Yuyi Kepong, Nasi Lemak Mesra Port Dickson, and Nasi Lemak Tanglin.
The 20 will be divided into five categories according to its specialty which are Institutions (those selling nasi lemak for generations), Lauk Power, Ayam Goreng Best, Outstation, and Unique.
