Kuala Lumpur – Sarawak Report’s servers were back online late this afternoon after being down for most of Sunday. Its editor, Clare Rewcastle-Brown had told the media this morning she suspected a hacking attempt by unknown parties.
A “service not available” prompt is shown on browsers when accessed by proxy or from other countries.
However, an FMT check on the website at 5pm showed that it was back online. The site did not carry any statement on its outage.
Last week, Internet users in Malaysia were blocked from accessing the site, although it remained available for those who changed their DNS settings on their browsers, or used proxy or VPN services.
