Teluk Intan -Datuk Mah Siew Keong has no problem crossing the political divide to condemn the smear campaign against DAP’s Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud.
The Gerakan president, however, wants the opposition party to join him in condemning the attacks on him in cyberspace.
Both Mah and Dyana are vying for the Teluk Intan parliamentary seat after it fell vacant following the death of its representative, Seah Leong Peng, due to cancer on May 1.
Earlier yesterday, DAP, via Dyana’s campaign agent Lee Chuan How, called for the Barisan Nasional candidate to make an official statement with the party to reject the claim that pictures of a bikini-clad woman were that of Dyana.
Lee had said this after lodging a police report following the discovery of several copies of the photos distributed at the Kampung Banjar Mosque and in the Changkat Jong area.
This is not the first time a bikini-clad woman was linked to the 27-year-old political secretary to DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang.
Last week, pictures of a bikini-clad woman, with a likeness to Dyana, were making the rounds on the Internet. It later turned out that the woman in the pictures was Pauleen Luna, a a Filipino actress.
“I, too, want such smear campaigns to stop.
“I get attacked more on the Internet compared with them,” Mah claimed, attributing the photoshopped pictures of himself and false text messages to DAP’s cyber-troopers.
The former Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Minister was speaking to reporters after delivering a ceramah at Taman Desa Aman last night.
Mah stressed that he had made his stand clear on smear tactics since day one of his campaigning.
Both sides, he added, must stop such tactics.
