Teluk Intan – DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang has admitted the party will be facing a big challenge in the Teluk Intan by-election.
However he was confident that its candidate, Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud would win the support of the voters in the parliamentary constituency.
“This is definitely a tough fight. DAP has made a brave decision in nominating Dyana,” he told reporters here yesterday.
Although the nomination day for the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election will be held this Monday, DAP has started campaigning today as its candidate is a new face.
Following her announcement as DAP’s candidate, Dyana has gone to the ground with her mentor, Lim to meet voters in the night market at the Dataran Menara Condong here yesterday evening.
Asked on Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate Datuk Mah Siew Keong, she was confident that racial and age factors would not be a big issue for her in this by-election.
“Previously, many young leaders have also become ,members of Parliament. So the age factor is not a problem. What is important is political maturity,” she added.
