Kuala Lumpur – Primary school pupils and secondary school students are set to enjoy more holidays next year.
The school calendar displayed on the Education Ministry’s website shows 85 holidays for the year – four more days than this year. There will also be fewer school days – 205 compared to 209 this year.
The school year is scheduled to start on Jan 4 in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, and a day later for the rest of the country.
The first mid-term break will take place from March 14 to March 22, followed by the mid-year holidays from May 30 to June 14.
The second mid-term break will be from Sept 19 to Sept 27, while the year-end holidays will begin on Nov 21.
The term breaks and holidays will begin a day earlier in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
The Harvest Festival and Gawai in May and June coincide with the mid-year break, while Hari Raya Haji is expected to fall within the second mid-term break in September.
