Statues Taking Their Own ‘Selfies’

The selfie is still going strong, with statues even getting in on the act, or so it seems.

Images of Greek and Roman statues looking like they are posing for their own snaps at Ireland’s Crawford Art Gallery have gone viral after being posted on Reddit.

The anonymous user has positioned the camera at the end of the statues’ outstretched arms to make it appear as though they are leaning in for their own self-portraits.

So could this series of photos spark the next selfie trend?

Earlier this month the “usie” or the “ussie” — the term coined for group selfies — was deemed to be the next big thing, following the famous group picture uploaded by Ellen DeGeneres at this year’s Oscars ceremony.
