Johor Bahru – The Johor police contingent’s new state headquarters will be equipped with the state-of-the art facilities in two years’ time.
The project scheduled to be completed by 2017, will see its personnel improving their delivery system, supported by the needed logistic and facilities which will include a detailed Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (CPCSD) and equipment to fight cybercrime.
Federal police Logistics Department director Datuk Panglima Zulkifli Abdullah said in line with government’s initiative to be a developed country, the force is also upgrading its services to serve the people better.
“Logically we need the necessary equipment to support our operations especially with the new technologies developing every day,” he said after visiting the two hectare new site, which is adjoining to current headquarters here along Jalan Tebrau here today.
Zulkifli said a new contractor has been appointed, with state Public Works Department monitoring the progress of the RM103 million building.
The adjoining building to the current contingent headquarters was approved in the 9th Malaysia Plan, and was originally scheduled to be completed in 2012. – NST
