Present were Bakti president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, vice-president, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, as well as 629 wives of BN elected representatives.
In her speech, Rosmah said organising such a programme would provide an opportunity for the wives of elected representatives to meet each other and bond, thus promoting unity, harmony and solidarity among them.
“What is important is that wives of BN leaders stand firm and work together as a team,” she added.
Rosmah said Bakti and the wives of BN representatives nationwide must emphasise balance in implementing programmes to ensure maximum impact was achieved.
The five-day programme which began yesterday, and themed ‘Kemesraan Melalui Sukan’ will see the wives of BN elected representatives competing in badminton and tenpin bowling.
The programme also includes a variety of scholarly sessions, arts and culture, and a carnival this weekend.
