Kota Kinabalu – Police here believe they have solved five robbery, theft and house break-in cases with the arrest of three men suspected of being involved in the crime around Inanam, Menggatal and Luyang.
Kota Kinabalu City police chief, ACP M Chandra said the suspects, aged between 18 and 22 years, were nabbed in separate raids in the Asia City area, Beverly Hill and in front of a shopping complex four days ago.
“In the raids, police recovered several stolen goods including a Toyota Prius car, cash, face masks, mobile phones, cigarettes and firearms worth about RM132,000,” he told reporters, here, Friday.
Chandra said two of the suspects were found to be positive for drugs while the other had no personal identification document on him.
On another development, he said 31 computers and 22 gaming machines worth RM300,000 at a family entertainment centre in a shopping complex, here, were seized between Oct 26 and Nov 4 to curb illegal online gambling activities.
He said that during the operations, seven men aged betwen 19 and 32 years and a 48-year-old woman were arrested, and 1,200 tokens and RM6,400 in cash seized from them.
Chandra also reminded that individuals in possession of any pump gun or fake gun should surrender it to the police to avoid police action against them.
