Kuantan – A fishmonger lost RM43,000 and valuables after three men armed with parang broke into her house in Desa Perpat, Kuala Rompin early today.
In the 2.30am incident, Aini Alharishah Ismail, 47, and her 23 year-old son were tied up with wire by the three masked robbers.
Rompin district police chief DSP Johari Jahaya said the robbers dressed in dark clothing surprised the son and forced him to take them to his mother.
“The robbers then ordered the mother and son into a room and tied them with wires before ransacking the house and escaping with some money and valuables,” he told Bernama here, today.
Later, the son managed to free himself and lodged a police report at Rompin district police headquarters. They were not harmed.
Johari said the mother and son lost RM43,000 kept in a bag, a laptop, mobile phone and some jewellery.
Based on their conversation, police believe that two robbers were foreigners while the other was a local.
The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code.
